Does your truck make this noise when Shift after parked

Whenever I pull out of a parking spot or let the truck sit for an extended period of time (over an hour) and put it in drive the car makes a weird sound as it shifts into second gear. This is almost like a clang but it is muffled as if the drive train is catching to deliver power. But what is funny is that it only happens one time and not during the rest of the drive. No other gear does it and it only happens the one time no matter how many stops and starts it do. I'm not sure what it is but I never had a truck do this before. It has done it since I bought it last year so I never took it as being anything serious and the fact that i only have stock setup and low miles. I have a KC 4x4.\

I don't think its a universal joint

It's the typical abs clunk. After the truck is parked for a certain amount of time, the system self tests once you reach between 10-20 mph. It's a very light muffled clunk.

Good to know!! My 06 CC and my friend's 05 CC do the same thing. I was worried that it could be a bad CV Joint, transmission or something like that.

My 07 CC LE does the same thing. But I have a hard time believing they let an abs system make a sound like that be heard. I'm still going to inquire unless someone else has already done this.

Try taking it to the stealer, they wont be able to duplicate it, (even if it happens to you EVERY time) And they will tell you that they have never heard of such a thing. I am sure it is the ABS, but every time I take mine into the dealer I mention it to them just so I can enjoy the "Wow I NEVER heard one do THAT before look on their faces. How can they possibly never hear of something like this before when you look at this forum and see how many of us exhibit this? It is fun to see their faces though even better that members of this forum collectively know more than the stealer!

Every ABS system I know of does it, and the Nissans and Infinitis sound the same way.

When 4runners do it almost smells.
