Mine cycles on and off, but doesn't short cycle all that often. I guess it has to to do with the extreme cooling loads we have here. When I need the AC, its ON. Hi.

I've never paid that much attention to it beings that I hardly ever run my A/C, except when I'm the interstate. But, I do think it does it, just thought it was normal.

My brand new '08 does this, so does our '08 Mercedes C300 and nearly every vehicle I've owned over the last 5-7 years, I go through a lot of vehicles. I don't think it's anything to get excited about. I actually think it does this to help conserve fuel and such.... some Ford vehicles actually have a device that kills the A/C compressor after a certain range in the RPM to help aid acceleration. If that were the case with my Nissan it would never be cool inside the cab.

actually, I have a solution. dont idle. all that does is waste gas and cause additional wear on your AC compressor

So does the D40. Try flooring it down a long on-ramp during a summer day. the AC starts blowing hot. It only does it at WOT though.

Does anyone know if this happens mostly when the fan is on the "1" setting? Does it happen less or not at all if the fan is on 2, 3 or 4?
