Question clutch slippage?

So I park my 2008 Nismo KC on my driveway (not severe) upslope.
Usually I leave it in 1st and apply the e brake.
The other day I forgot to apply the emergency brake (but the truck was definitely in 1st)
and watched the truck back down the driveway.
Very odd though, it did it in little steps. About every 10 to 20 seconds it would back
up a couple of feet and stop.

What gives? Is this a clutch problem or what?
Any insight would be musch appreciated.

Could just be the engine turning over. The reason it went in steps is because it had to overcome the compression. Just a theory.

By the positioning of the truck, did you force the engine to go backwards?

This happened to me in my 1st car. I parked it on my friends driveway, which is a fairly steep incline, forgot to put the e-brake on and the car rolled down in steps as you described.

Definitely the weight of the truck turning-over the engine backwards. It is possible and I don't feel any damage being done. Just use the parking (not "e") brake. It'll be alright.

x2. Thats what it is. Did you notice it making little compression noises? Everyone once and awhile I will stall on a hill climb, and then coast down the hill as you described.

Though It doesn't like starting after turning backwards....

Use your e-brake

Smile brake name

This turned up something interesting and to not hi-jack the thread, I've started a poll for the brake name.
