state of maine bought some Rams...they dont buy them anymore they were such junk. I've talked to one of the mechanic's supervisors who said they had nothing but problems with the Rams they had.

As far as Gm goes there silverados are good trucks.Havent heard anything bad about them as far as the people i know thats had them in the past. My g/f's father has a 89 model cheyenne an its got right at 300,000 miles on it and he just replaced the transmission and the original 305 mtr. is still in it. other than that its been a good truck to him.

Dodge was always my truck of choice, although I ended up driving Fords instead. I fell in love with the Ram along time ago, but last year when I was truck shopping I wanted four full doors, a manual tranny, power locks and windows, and decent fuel economy, so I went midsize. Had the new Dakota been out last year when I was truck shopping, I very likely would be driving one of those right now instead. Who knows.

The Titan, or whatever it is named in the end will be OK. It will be under the control of Nissan Design and overseen by Nissan quality control. It is just going to be built in a Dodge facility. The previous version of the Quest van was built by Mercury, common with the Villager. It had a Nissan drive train; and all the exterior panels were stamped in TN at the Nissan plant.

The Frontier is not a part of the deal. It will remain in TN. The Titan is going to a Dodge facility, that has capacity to build it, to make room for a series of LCV (Light Commercial Vehicles) in MS.

Nissan is already going to build a small car for Dodge, based on the Versa, for sale in South America and another small car for the Chinese market.

I owned three Quests. A 1997,1999 and a 2002 and all three never gave me a single problem The body was built by Ford and the drive train built by Nissan. In the door jamb the sticker had both logos saying who built what.

I'm not convinced. Nissan will have input but the assembly and most of the parts will be dodge. most of the time when a vehicle is built by someone else, it is primarily based on their offering with different sheetmetal but identical underpinnings (otherwise, you lose the economy of scale).

Was it the Cummins diesel engine? That's a lot of miles for a 3 year old truck.
