Chrysler to Build Titan Replacement!!!

Yes, you read right. In the August 2008 issue of Four Wheeler on page 14 it reads:

"Chrysler and Nissan announced the next-generation Nissan Titan would be built by Chrysler, on the Dodge Ram platform with unique Nissan sheet-metal. Nissan may or may not use the Titan name but it has been determined that the new truck will use the Ram's coil-spring rear suspension. All Nissan would say for now is that the new truck will take advantange of Chrysler's powertrain options to give the Titan buyer a wider selection of engines than the 5.6L DOHC V-8 solely offered now."

"Current Titan product will end ni 2010."

I was debating selling the Frontier as I could use some more towing and hauling capabilities and the only full size truck I would ever buy is the current Titan. I think now my mind is made up! I will definitely be trying to sell the Frontier to get a current generation Titan before they are gone!

news is about 2 months old or more, most of us already knew, but thanks for posting it again. It now reminds me to get a pre 2010 Titan if I end up going that route.

oh this is the crap that happen with the new camaro. It happen to say maybe Camaro maybe not, im sorry but i dont believe till i see it. This truck has a bit of a following and if they ever get rid of the frontier nameplate that would be the sillest, stupidest crap they have ever done. I guess this means a coil-sprung rear frontier lol giggles...giggles.. You know this makes sense because the frontier is based off the ttian suspension, so this will probably work out for the best.

lets put it this way step over wrangler theres a new kid in town lol lol

Dear Nissan: I buy a lot of trucks for my business and cycle them in and out every couple of years. I started my business with Toyotas and had been happy with them for years in terms of reliability. The rest of the "Yota" just doesn't hold up well to working daily as a truck or employees. We started growing good over the last couples and needed larger trucks. Toyotas were too pricy so we got a couple of '05 Dodge Rams. Read my lips I will never own another Dodge product, or subsidery of their asenine POS. I purchased an '08 Frontier crew cab 4x4 long bed a few months ago that I personally drive as a test to see if the next batch of trucks we will buy will either be more Nissans or back to Toyota. I traded a 2007 Tacoma for my '08 Frontier and couldn't be happier, in fact this '08 Frontier works so hard and is such a good match I'm really impressed. I will however not even so much glance or entertain any Nissan trucks from here on out if you stop making the Frontier and turn the program over to Chrysler. I alredy know if I need another big truck I've got to go with Toyota since you will stop making the Titan in house.

Dodge Rams are a POS. I had to drive one for a couple weeks while car was in the body shop. Maybe I just had a bad one but the trucked just sucked. The engine was terrible. The tranny started slipping and jerking towards the end of the 2 weeks.

well these new ones are a step-up and they will probly use compenents like the rear coil set-up. My moms ex had a 2005 Dodge ram and it has more than 250,000 miles on the original motor. Its how u take care of it 2. So thats always a factor.

Can anybody name three weaker car companies than GM, F and Chrysler LLC? Why would Ghosan partner with any of these bozos? Let them go belly up and then buy the assets.
