In cab filter?

I have a 2001 frontier, does it have an in cab filter? Thanks. Also, what does advancing the timing 2 degrees do?

If you have the in cab filter there should be a sticker in the glove box about it.

My '04 XE had the slot for the filters, but from the factory, it just had a plate covering that slot. I put some filters in around 15k miles when I went to "replace" the factory ones. The glove box can be removed pretty easily i think it was 4 or 6 screws. I'm going to be replacing mine again any day now.

Some of the older ones may have to have the slot cut out for the filters to slide in,no big deal.

My 01 has a cabin filter. Take the 6 screws out of the dash the go around the glove box and remove it. You will see the filter in the middle of the heater / ac box. There will be a clip at the bottom that pops off and then you slide the filter out. The filter in mine was a 2 piece filter. It was never serviced since the truck was new, soooo it was pretty gross. I blew it out with the air hose then took a shop vac to it.
