Battery Terminal Replacement

Is there a way to replace the positive terminal itself, without replacing the entire terminal/fuse assembly? Terminal is cracked but still snug on the battery. The entire assembly from Nissan appears to be $75+.

Thanks,
JKG

yes, the part that actually clamps to the battery post can be changed. The nut in the center of the 2 fuses will allow you to remove and replace it. I used an aftermarket terminal with some other bells and whistles, but you can use a basic terminal you can find at autozone or similar.
Heres what i did:

Like Glamis said. Look at yours, see the bolt that attaches the ring to the fuse piece? undo it and swap the ring piece with a quality thick chunky good one from your local parts supplier. The stock one is a piece of junk. Good luck..

Thanks for the information. I ordered a replacement. Now, I just have to determine if I can get the old one off.

I replaced mine with another stock one, although I wish I would have seen glamisdudes before I did as I cannot wipe the drool of my chin fast enough. Does that thing have a cold crank meter on it or what, glamisdude? Where or where can I get one?

haha im glad you like it I got the terminal from sonic elecitronix I think it was like $21. The readout on the top is just a voltage meter, I really didn't care to much for that I bought that particular one as it had all of the correct inputs I needed. Two 4 awg, one 0-2 awg, and two any guage with ring lugs. So far it has worked out awesome and I highly recommend it. Its made by x scorpion but I can't remember the model. This one is gold plated, but they have one that is platitium plated as well for slightly cheaper.

I just pulled the trigger on that X-Scorpion battery terminal since I am installing a 4-channel amp this weekend. It will be nice to run the wiring right to that terminal. I take it the stock bolt that came with the terminal would not work as shown in your picture?? Did you use the stock bolt from the Fronty to secure it?

You are correct sir. The bolt that comes with the new terminal is way to short to use with the stock fuse connection thing and you can't use the the bolt on the factory terminal. I just brought the bolt on the new terminal to home depot and got one that was longer and had the same thread pitch. You will also need some washers to stack underneath the fuse connection thing as the way its shaped does not allow it to interface with the new terminal correctly. There are a few more pics on it here:

Its still hard to see what I mean with the washers though... Once its all apart it should be more obvious what I'm trying to say.
