Back'd into a damn rock

Hey everyone, last night was great, seemed like everything was lining up, picked up some new free board shorts from work, went up skiing with some homies, then we went over to the SKI Mansion where there are a ton of honey's hanging out + a hot tub (board shorts). I got lost in the Neighborhood and came to a dead end, so I pull into a drive way and started backing out, got a little too far and tapped a this rock I couldn't see with the left side of the truck. From what I could see last night the bumper has a nice ding in it, and has pushed into the bed. Was so bummed out I couldn't even stick around ski mansion for long. Damn I'm so mad at myself. Will get some pics up here today, just don't really want to go look at it

My post may have come off as a bit rude.
Vehicles get dented and dinged. do what you can to keep it nice and someone decides to crush a walmart shopping cart against your front bumper or door dings you. but after a few, fixes and upgrades, it bothers me less...

These bumpers easily straighten out with a rubber mallet and a block of wood. They are so thin it's not funny

This is true, when i got rear ended on the driver side corner, it folded the bumper into the bed. I was able to get a good grip with 2 hands and bend it back most of the way, got it the rest of the way with a ratchet strap & a hammer. You'd never know it was bent.

The crease in my bed though, that involved a plastic tipped hammer and some touch up paint, and it's still far from perfect to me, but most people don't notice it.

It sucks to do that, I've done it myself years ago. Surely many here have done similar. It could have been worse and you're not injured.

Yep, dinged my bumper too hooking up to my trailer. The bumper is flimsy and thin as tissue paper. A few whacks and the bumper will be just like new.

Here are some pics of it

with my skis and also my truck is covered in salt right now from the roads. Will have to wash it when the snow slows down a little.

The bumper took a good amount of the damage, under the plastic its all bent up and broke the plastic that keeps it in place. Then instead of folding it looks like it went straight into the bed, took off some paint and put a good dent into it. Can't tell if it dropped much and needs to be bent back up, could maybe cover it up after touching it up with some paint and some hammer work, other wise I'll have to take it into a body shop.

Are you going to replace your bumper with an aftermarket one?
