Back glass swap

Long story short, my back glass was damaged in a storm and it will need replaced. I dont really use the slider that comes with the king cab and would rather use the crew cab plain glass because it looks cleaner and it is cheaper.

My question is does it fit. I know others have talked about it but searching yielded nothing of value. Let me know what you know. Thanks.

I don't see why it wouldn't fit. The CC glass might have a defroster grid on it but I'm not sure.

If the KC glass fits the CC, then the CC glass should fit the KC. However, the CC does have the rear defroster, which obviously will not work.

Unless you figure out a way to hook it up correctly.

Also, remember that the glass is so flat, if you drive with your windows down you will get some crazy wind noise. You may want to stay with the slider just for the ability to crack it open when driving with the windows down. There is also an aftermarket slider that is automatic. If you are interested there is a thread on it so just search "rear glass" or "glass slider" or items like that.

I use my slider maybe 4 times a year, but during the summer my windows are always down. I have never really noticed any substantial wind noise.

06-footy - i do like the smooth look and its about 60 bucks cheaper. cant beat that.

in case anyone is interested, shingles are bad for glass when they are tossed in a storm. the glass is covered in scratches.
