have you tried to smog it yet? if a smog guy is jerkin you over an intake, go to another shop. i have some half-assed k&n setup with no carb sticker and i passed smog no problem.

Just reinstall your stock system for the smog check and remove it when you are done.

If all these ricers in California can pass smog with all the crap they have then you shouldn't have a problem. As roastbeef said, go to a different shop.

Back when I had my mustang with all sorts of stuff on it, I had to have the carb sticker with the number specifically for the part. They take that crap seriously here. No stickers is an instant fail, even if you pass the actual smog test. Ricers can pass because many parts are still CA legal...and many don't pass. I see failed emission stickers on cars all the time.
