Anyone have transmission problems?

I am just trying gauge whether anyone has experienced any kind of problems with their automatic transmissions in a Gen II Frontier 05+? Today on my way home my truck started acting really strange. It seemed as if it were going to die if I took my foot off the gas. Also it seemed to lag between shifts making them king drawn out. Kinda freaked me out. I drive the truck every day and can tell when something doesn't seem right. I do have low gas, but the light just came on. I did just do the TB screen removal, and I do still have an IMS with bad gaskets still installed. Anyone have a transmission or engine problem with their Gen II's? Just trying to figure it out because I can't be without a vehicle.

what was it doing at idle? If it revs, drops, revs, drops, revs drops, or kinda sounds like it has a mean cam at idle, its going to be an air leak, which would be the IMS. Other then that though......

I did take the back cover off the engine(the one that says 4.0) and listened to the engine. It sort of sounding like a light knocking sound, sort of diesel sounding. It didn't seem to fluctuate in the rpms at idle.

Mine kinda slips a lil, only when im giving it gas and it trys to change gears and it slips hard. I just asume its the way the tranny is programed to act with the throtle responce. It needs some work!

Hope you find out what is wrong. No problems here. The only thing I don't like is while on cruise control and coming down hill, the tranny feels like it is searching for a higher gear once in a while. No slippage yet and still going strong.

I always thought my transmission was a little too jerky at certain points. I.E. cruising in town between 40-45 mph let off the gas and rolling, get back on the gas and it's like theres jerk or rough feel as the engine and torque converter try to match speed again. I bought this truck becasue I need an automatic becasue I drive so much and also because I need that trans to be bullet proof. I'm debating on changing the trans fluid out with something else any recommendations?

That's probably slack in the rear differential. Different problem

No check engine light, but there definitly seems like something wrong. The dealer said that often the ECU will show codes when plugged into it but there will be no engine light on. I am thinking vaccuum leak from the stupid IMS. I will take it off friday evening and see what I find out.

Royal Purple Max ATF should set your tranny straight.
