Anyone else have problems with their sending unit on a second gen?
I just had my sending unit replaced under warranty had 27k on her at the time. What was happening was my gas gauge didn't go up after I filled up and the check engine light came on. So I took her to the dealer they fixed her up. No big deal really but I am a bit concerned that the sending unit was going bad at only 27k miles. I also remember reading in a thread somewhere on here that someone had gone through like 4 sending units in like 50k miles. I'm hoping to keep this truck for 20 years or so if possible with minimal problems hopefully just looking for some feedback. And yes I am anal about the maintenance on the truck.

There have been lots of issues with the sending units on the 2nd Gens.

i was on my 4th,,when i traded in my 2007 few weeks ago,,56,000 miles,,they just keep putting the same one in ,,has not been fixed or redesigned

yep, matter of fact mine just did it yesturday when I was filling up with free gas, and didnt comeup till I got home later that day.......see nothings ever free
