for all those with after market bumpers

letting u guys know if you have a heavy duty after market bumper with a winch or have to get winched out by your bumper , keep an eye out the tabs on the top portion of the bumper mounts will break , especially them being kind of suspended and 5/16 steel

mine does as well , but it depends on how u are getting winched , i was getting winch up a hill , so it kind of pulled the bumper downward and ripped the tabs off , bottom its totally fine

Thats the second time I've seen you have problems with those tabs. It might be wise to move the mount point (the horizontal support) for the bumper so its closer to the bottom bolt. That will transfer more of the load down there.

Thats another solution. Maybe not even cut it off, but simply put another 3/16 plate up against it...and reinforce it from the rear (one of those nice little triangles that you make)

Hmm.. yea that is gonna need some work. Seems like a few gussets might work out ok after you bend it back or cut if off and install some new plates. I assume this is the same place the Shrockworks bumpers mount up. Another plate will also give you the option of a better mount point, and more area to gusset. Looks like you a pretty good load on it this time. While we were up at Edwards Park, I was taking note of the fact that your bumper didn't even budge after being pulled out, and after help with pulling the Tacoma out of the river...
