06 Fuel sensor - gauge showing NO GAS

Right after my 36K warranty runs out my fuel gauge goes bad, called the Nissan garage and they told me they have replaced several of these sensors and it was inside the tank, total cost would be $350, 150 for the sensor and 200 labor because the tank has to come off, Iam going in tomorrow for a driver side valve cover gasket and let them listen to the throw out bearing again, if they dont hear the grinding throw out bearing Iam taking it elsewhere and having that fixed, that is covered under the 60K powertrain warranty. Thanks guys..

Nissan should fix the fuel gauge under a "good will" repair. As far as the throw out bearing goes it is not covered beyond the first 12,000 miles. Good luck.

Thumbs down Me Too!!

Same thing just happend to my 05 Nismo KC at 44K. Took it to a good repair guy that works on my truck. He charged me about $300, so I guess I saved $50 by not going to the Stealership. It's pretty sucky that these are breaking at such low mileage. Smells like a future class action claim to me.

We Must Be Twins

Sounds like you are having the exact same issues I've had with my 06. I purchased it in October 2006 w/ 0 miles. Today I turned 97,000.. yes 97K. The fuel sending unit went out at exactly the same mileage and to top it off my rear diff said bye bye at 62K. "Good Will" I don't think so... have your checkbook ready.

Good luck

SOB mine just crapped out today too..2006 with 34K on the clock. WTF nissan?! Well looks simple enough, good way to spend a saturday afternoon. Screw letting the dealership touch it....even if it is under warranty.

Thanks for the related thread inyourface, pretty helpful with the pics.

Btw.....the 40+ year old one in my mustang is still working great lol.
