Tire size

I'm sure this is an overaasked question but i'm having some trouble finding what I need to know. I have a 2010 King cab and am installing my 2"prg spacers this week and 1.5 blocks in the rear. I want to get some bigger tires, stock are 275 70 16 Long Trail.(they look small) I hear even with 7" rims you can use a 285 75?? Does this work alright without rubbing or will I need to modify a bit. If rubbing is an issue, how will 275 75 16's look if I go with the cooper discovere st or BFG A/T??? I want to go big but no rubbing, maybe even a cooper stt. I love the new terra grappler trail m/t but they only make a 285 not a 265 so that's whay I'm most curious about. Anyway, sorry about all the ?'s that I'm sure everyone has answered before, but any help would be appreciated. Thanks

They fit but most of the time requires trimming the mud flap a bit.

285 on a 7in rim is a redneck bead lock, i've seen 305s on stock wheels no issues fitting on the rim. however most aggressive tires mine need a trim here or there to have fill clearance lock to lock

Well the Nitto trail M/t's are 285 70 are only 31.8" tall so maybe I won't need much trimming. Or I could just go to a cooper stt 265 75 16 but it says they are 32" so maybe the Nitto will be just as close. I do a bit of highway driving as well so do you think that "redneck bead lock" will be a big deal???
