Review of them from another forum:
"So I now have about about 4000 miles on the tires and still really like them. This past weekend we ran Upper Woodpecker Mine trail here in AZ, which is comprised of some pretty technical rock crawling, and I have to say they did spectacular. I aired them down to 20 psi and they grabbed anything in their path. My only limitation on the trail was my suspension and lack of front down travel, which revealed it self in some of the more trivial situations. The tires are also really tough, as they took some pretty good side wall hits and drive off like champs. They seemed to not chunk as bad as I thought they would considering the size of lugs they have. We had to drive down a 7 mile mountain road after about 2 days of pretty good rain. This means some pretty good mud. The tires did exceptional well as should be expected from a mud tire. They cleaned with easy and I was surprised at the amount of traction I had while steering hard left or right. They are still more quiet than a typical mud tire. I still have not had a chance to really test them in any sand however and hope that I get the chance soon."
and after driving them in snow:
"I have now used the tires in some decent snow and ice. The tires did exceptional well. I was able to plow through about 12 inches of fresh and wet snow with ease. On the icy pavement they did better than I had expected them to do. Not as good as say a ice and snow passenger car tire but much better than my previous set of BFG ATs. I was able to steer, climb a small hill, and stop without too much slipping. They really excelled in the slushy mud I found in a few places on a Forrest Road. I did not air down for any part of this trip and never felt like I didn't have the traction needed. I was very comfortable the entire time driving the truck in the conditions."

I've had them on since 2007 roughly 25k miles and I would buy another set in a heart beat. Easily the best MT I have ever owned to this point and I have owned a LOT of MT's.

These tires work great off-road, and they have worn quite well. They ride just fine on the road, not super loud. I drive Aaron's truck to and from work every day and have no complaints about the way they are on the road. The commute is 25ish miles each way and they have held up just fine, wearing normal and all. These tires tend to grip very well - which has caused some chunking of the lugs. That is the only con on these tires. That is the only time when driving on road that you notice them, as you can feel the missing lugs every now and then.
Pros-I now know why they call this the black ice tire, this winter we had several days of nothing but ice with up to 2in of accumulation and even though I live on some bad roads I never had a problem getting out. I only used 4wd to get up some of the bigger hills and even then I don't think I really NEEDED it, it was just a precaution.
Loose dirt, no problem. Mud, no problem. These are some of the stickiest tires I have owned.
I have also been through a lot of rain and flooding (this past year has been the wettest in history for Missouri) and never hydroplaned or even came close.
Cons-If you live on rock roads the tread does chunk pretty bad. The grip of the tire can really be felt through the steering wheel when going slow in a parking lot, you can feel the lugs pulling when you turn the tire.
The noise of the tire isn't bad compared to a lot of MT's on the market (I love the sound of a mud tire) but I know some people complain about it.

scuba91ta:
They are decent in the snow, but as with any tire with a blocky tread they are not going to be great. Don't get me wrong - I've been through 2 winters on mine and they get me around plenty good in the snow and is a night and day difference from the stockers.
I only got 42k out of my stockers, i so far have put about 20k on this set of TG's and the wear has been very good! I'm not sure that they are even half worn, the tread depth is still very deep. They handle pretty good, and offroad they are a great compromise - They have done well for me in both sand and mud. Obviously they are not a mud tire but i really didn't have any issues through any mud with them. On the road they do sing a bit, but no worse than any other tire with an agressive pattern for the street.
Overall? I like them - they handle nice, ride nice, and offer a great on/off road compromise IMO.

Frontyfan - I am currently running Cooper STT MTs in 305/70/16. I love them! I paid just under $200 per tire (without mount and balance though). The place I bought them at said they are rated to 40k miles too. I like the look, very aggressive, but they ride smooth and aren't as loud as other MTs.
eglaisi - I have them in 265's. Awesome tire. Had them on since October I think. Awesome in everything I've thrown at them. I was a little worried about on road driving. I was surprised that they're nice and grippy even on wet pavement.
