I bought a 2012 Frontier PRO-4X about 4 months ago....it now has 4800 miles, and sits at the dealership with an oil pan full of coolant. The dealership had been in touch with Nissan corporate about this, and supposedly Nissan is aware of an issue, but the service manager was pretty vague about what this issue may be. Has anyone heard any issues with the 4.0's? This had kind of taken me by surprise....I've never had an issue like this on any vehicle I have owned, especially at this young age! I love the truck, I'm just still in shock! The Altima I have now for a loaner just doesn't haul all the stuff I need it to!
So...does this mean that the problem that was supposedly solved in 2011+ models is not actually solved???
Interesting.

The impression I had was that the transmissions were what were tanking. The transmission/fluid was fine. Am I mistaken here? Is It possible the engine oil can get contaminated from this problem?

Haven't read anything about ENGINE oil becoming contaminated... and it seems way early for the rad problem already. I guess we'll find out!

I'm hoping I'll find out. It's been a week and they are still trying to find a new long block. They said Nissan just said to replace the motor. I guess it's probably cheaper in the long run.

Personally, I highly doubt they will ever actually fix the design of the radiator. If they haven't fixed a timing chain tensioner in the last 18 years, then why would they fix a radiator?
