hoping to find and own the ideal frontier
I was hoping to get some input regarding buying a Frontier crew cab soon. I have a lot of questions. My situation is right now i have a '99 Toyota Tacoma 2.4 liter extra cab with a shell. I love it because it's bulletproof, has a lot of space to store my stuff in the locking shell and gets decent gas mileage at around 23mpg. It holds 12.5 gal in a full tank and it's an automatic. I think I can get around $7500 for it for a trade-in or sell it before I buy my Frontier. My situation has changed and now I'm a proud father of a beautiful girl and the Tacoma will only allow a baby seat in the front seat. Also I have a large dog and a ton of toys - mountain bikes, surfboards, etc. All of this is pretty cramped when the wife and I take a drive in it.
So my ideal frontier would be a used CrewCab Frontier that gets about the same gas mileage for around $12,000. I really do not want payments but will accept up to 5k financed. Also I like the body styling of the 2001 or better. I'm hoping to get the best gas mileage as possible; 4 cylinder or 6 cylinder - doesn't matter to me; I will be commuting about 34 miles each day. Does the Crewcab model allow a full size dirtbike in the bed? It's not too important for this because I could use a trailer. Also, do all Frontier crew cabs have a trailer hitch? Has anyone put a baby seat in the back seat of a crew cab frontier?
So is my ideal Frontier crew cab possible? One that has the 2001 or better body style, gets 20 m/gal or better, room for me, my wife, my baby seat in the back, my dog in the bed, and some toys, all for under 12K?
Thanks for your input, I'm looking forward to becoming a true Frontier club member!
