Hello Club Frontier......

..........hello world.

As you may guess by my user name, I used to own a Land Rover Freelander, a troublesome lump of metal, plastic, rubber and leather (I know, that may excite some people), but it's biggest failing for me and my family was it's lack of boot space, it's hard enough getting one large dog in the boot, and we have six!

So I did what I wanted to do in the first place, I bought a pick-up, a 2003 Navara D22. Now I know they have their problems too, but I chose one which has had the bottom-end done already, so fingers crossed, I just need to keep an eye on any other problems they may develop............

Thanks for the welcome guys,
I'm also interested in other people's experiences of Nissan's as I have been working at Nissan as an employee for nearly 21 years now, but don't worry, I'm not a mole or a spy, just a desk jockey

At times, I wish Nissan would haunt these forums. I have had several nissans over the last 13 years and have had great luck with them for the most part, but a time or two I would have liked to have talked to someone who could make things happen!

Ah, if only we all had someone like that

Sadly, Nissan are just the same as any other mass-produced item, from a Crosman CO2 to a Harley Davidson, from a Dyson to a Rolls Royce, they are built on a production line by guys who have good days and bad, and for every one you hear problems about there are a few you don't and hundreds that don't have problems any at all.

What would make things easier to bear, is if when things do go wrong, the parts are as cheap to the customer (when out of warranty) as they were to the manufacturer (have a look at the 4x4 switch which often fails on the Navara, it is no more than the rear brake light switch for a motorcycle, yet costs 10x the amount at the dealers to replace).
