Don't quite have it yet...

I'm up here in Minnesota. I've been considering a truck for years now (lots of toys) and have finially decided on the 07 Frontier. I'm 95% sure I'll be getting an SE, but I'm checking with the dealer about finding me a white NISMO if they're willing to not gouge me on it.

I'll be picking it up on Friday

I have some questions though:

Should I go with OEM add-ons? I'm definitely getting a bug deflector, splash guards and step rails. Am I better off buying aftermarket or sticking with Nissan parts?

Does anyone have the hard tonneau cover? How easy are they to remove and how secure are they?

Anything else you recommend?

First, congrats on the purchase.

Secondly, there are quite a few nice after-market add-ons I have found just looking around on here. It changed my mind on the nerf bars for sure when I discovered Shrockworks through this site.

Don't Forget a Dana 44 Rear end, push buttom locking differential, Better shocks, and Majestic blue Paint option. I went for the nismo, its only a grand more. My final quote on my 07 nismo was $21,000.

i forgot to mention i got $2,500 in rebates.

The lowest I was quoted on the NISMO was $24k and $22k on the SE.

We only have one Nissan dealer in town - that doesn't help any.

Welcome aboard!! Good luck finalizing the sale.

As for add-ons. A lot of people go OEM for the hood guard. It's nice cuz it follows the lines and is tight to the body. Same goes for the mud flaps, and both are relatively inexpensive and really easy to put on. As for the step bars, I'd probably go aftermarket. You can get some pretty nice ones for about the same price or cheaper than the OEM ones. I'm going with a soft-top tonneau, so I can't advise on that...

Good luck!

howdy there neighbor to the east. i paid 24k for my nismo crew cab. i think nismo extended cabs are closer to that 21-22k range. i like the nismo because you get the factor fog lights, chrome mirrors and door handle. chrome accents in the dash, "nismo" seat fabric, track system and factory spray on bed liner in bed. and if you think you will ever use it, the rear differential locker.

step rails (nerf bars or running boards) will most likely be cheeper in the aftermarket scene.

i think the nissan bug deflector looks better than any aftermarket one iv seen. i wouldnt pay more than $80 for it though.

i do not have a hard tonneau, i have a soft roll up style. but nothign is more secure than the hard tonneau. depending on the brand you go with will deturmine what kind of job it is to take on and off. most of them are designed to go on and stay on. if you have any doubt in your mind you will be removing it alot, then a hard cover isnt for you. i used to sell vehicles accessories, and i had soooooooo many people buy hard covers, then come back in 3 months and want to trade them for soft roll up covers. so ya, just something to take into consideration.....

My only other thing to consider is long vs short box. I'll need to check on price difference.
