That tire is 1/2in taller, I like that, but is it too wide for the stock rim? What advice does discount have? I am 10 minutes from calling them to order?

I do about 50/50 highway/city. Once a month I go camping and mild offroading, mostly sandy trails and some river rocks. I think these tires measure about 31"? I really don't like the look of the small sidewall and would like a tire of about 33". I am pretty sure they won't rub or anything. I have no clue what size to get and am not a big fan of aftermarket rims. Can you advise?

Thanks

Thank you for your patience Jay, I have been slammed for questions today. Sorry for the delay.

You might be able to get away with the 285/70R17 but you would need to test fit. Your optoins in this size are going to be limited though if you don't want a stiff ride. Kumho makes the KL78 in a P petric version (4)ply that would be awesome on there for you. Most of the other tires in that size are LT tires and are going to ride stiff because they are 8 and 10 ply tires.

The 285 will fit your 7.5" stock wheel fine but you don't want to go any wider. If you are going to rub it will be at full lock. Here is a tire size calculator so you can see the difference, look under your truck and see if you have the clearance. Tire Size Calculator

Kumho KL78

All: 285/70R17 *sizes with E = 10ply D = 8 ply and C= 6 ply.

What's the exact year make and model of your Frontier? Do you have a lift? What offset are you going with?

Looks like the make them in a 17x8 with a 4.5" Backspace (0mm) offset. If you went with that size with will stick out about 1/4".

In comparison to the stock option 17" wheels and tires the 295.70.17 is 2.7" taller in overall diameter. See calculator in two posts above. You are going to want to test fit this. Chances are, you will rub. You also might want to consider the 285.70.17 to minimize the chances.

Awesome. The 4.5" BS will be your best bet. Send me a link when you post pics. It should look great.

What is the reason for limited wheel selections for the 05+ Frontiers/Xterras/Pathfinders?
Limited bolt pattern use? I think the Dakota shares our pattern?
Brake clearance?

I see many available for 5 on 4.5 (Jeep TJ pattern), but few for 6 on 4.5.

Thanks for the reply. I went with the BFG ATko 285/70R17. It rubbed on the front mud guard and front inner wheel housing. An hour with a dremil and I have about 2in clearance. I will post picks. The tires looks great on the truck, are quiet, and it rides nice. The tire is stiffer but taller so the ride is actually a little smoother. You can notice the weight difference a little bit also. I would not advise anyone to go bigger unless you have a 5" lift.

There are very few vehicles with the same bolt pattern as the Frontier it is a 6x114.3. I am pushing our wheel department to offer a few more designs for you but it will take a little time. Some of you know I am in the same boat as you guys. My wife has a Frontier and I have been looking at wheel options for a while now and there just aren't that many. I hope to help with that. (Fingers crossed)

Hub-centric rings

I recently purchased a set of 20in LiquidMetal Magma rims from your site. They look awesome but at about 45 or higher they vibrate like crazy i've gotten an alignment and balanced them. My next step is hubcentric rings can you give me the dimensions for a 2007 Frontier KC SE, with 20in Liquid Metal Magma rims. Does this sound like the problem?

^^ there is a set available in the For Sale section! Grab 'em while you can, great looking wheel.

I have one other question and I think I'll be good to go. Do you still have the capability to get the MB Motoring 72's in the black/silver, 17x8, for our bolt pattern (6x114.3)???? I see the polished versions up on your site but not the black set.
