Do center caps come with your wheels?

I just bought a set of Unique 297 16x8 6-4.5 wheels from Discount Tire. I ordered them online and picked them up at my local store. When I picked them up they did not have center caps and they told me that they were $7 exta per cap! I could not beleive that, on top of that they did not have any so they had to be special ordered.

Is that really how it works, or did someone make a mistake and is just trying to cover it up?

Same thing happened to me a few years ago. I thought the guy was trying to pocket some money....after talking to a few peeps, found out that's the way they do it. At least with the set I bought.

I bought a set of the same wheels for my last truck and the caps came with the wheels. I bought them at the actual store though, not online.. I understand if the mounting hardware comes seperate, but if it's shown in the picture (the center caps) on their website, they should be included IMO.

p.s. do you have the wheels mounted yet? I've heard conflicting stories about these wheels fitting. Discount said they'd fit but someone also said they tried them on their X and it didn't clear. Waiting and hoping....

Well that's the way I figured it. The picture includes the center caps, there are no center caps anywhere on the website for sale, it did not try to sell me them when I put the wheels in the cart, like it did valve stems, lug nuts, and mounting - so WTF! I was expecting center caps. Now not only didn't it come with them, they don't have any and they've got to be special ordered!

Unfortunately I am not actually planning to mount these on my truck. I have a little off-road trailer and swapped the hubs out so that I'd have a common spare. So I may now be the only guy on the planet that knowingly swapped to 6 on 4.5.

unfortunately, thats how it works because every truck has a different bore size....some manufacturers will include caps and some wont depending on the style of wheel.....but in your defense, it suppose to specify if it will/will not come with caps....so if nothing was said about caps not being included, then they owe you a free set of caps cause nothing was mention or stated that caps will not be included with wheels......good luck

well that's what I was thinking. That the listing would say center caps not included, or choose from one of these center cap options to add to cart. Honestly I don't care, it's $7 its more of a pain the a$$ then anything else. Now I got to order them and when they get here take wheels off add center caps, remount wheels. I sure like to do things one time if I can help it. Wonder if I can just go to NAPA or Autozone and get a set of center caps for 3.3" inch bore. I don't really want their logo on the caps anyway!

custom caps.....my ex gf's dad made his own for his 65 nova with the numbers "65" on the caps..they spun freely until parked...then he would spin all four until the 65 was upright and lock them in places...lol

Unfortunately, Unique and Cragar do not sell their wheels with the caps. They are sold separately. We are actually in the process of changing how it is presented on our website so that is does not mislead you. If you bought from Discounttire.com contact the store you had them delivered to and see what they an do for you. If you bought them from Home - Discount Tire Direct call us at 1.888.459.4080 and speak with our customer care department. They will do their best to get you what you need. We apologize for the inconvenience.
