A receiver hitch tends to be in the way in situations like this, especially on a pickup with much overhang behind the rear wheels. If the Calmini bumper had a built in hitch, it wouldn't hang up on such obstacles. Just ask the driver of the blue Frontier in the picture.

At least I didn't use the one that showed you having problems getting your front wheels to pull! That was the best photo I could think of to show the drawback of a receiver hitch off road.
