what axles dose 72 Highboy F250 have?

Ok guy's...

Somebody called me on a set of axles from a 1972 Ford F250 Highboy 4WD....

But i've been beating the hell out of google and can not seem to find anything on what axles those are... Basically trying to find out if they are something i want to pick up... I guess he has somebody who wants them, but needs a answer from me quickly...

So... Anybody know about this?

highboy?? what is that? 72 F250's had a drivers drop D44 in the front and a D60 rear with LSD (someone i know is swapping those exact axles into his jeep right now) they are 8x6.5 lug IIRC

there's a thread on priate4x4.com for a disc brake conversion for that rear D60, it's under $300 for all parts, seemed like a good deal

well... If google had more info, i'd be set....

If i am not mistaken, the highboy was just that... A kinda special edition F250 which had a higher suspension ride height from the factory... Although i cain't seem to find solid online proof that this is correct... If they are infact drivers side drop 44's up front, and rear 60's... then i'm taking them as long as they guy didn't let them go already.....

however i just texted somebody who said he thinks its passenger side drop.. but that doesn't make since... on a ford?

no if it's a 72 ford, it's drivers drop, trust me josh, my friend is using those axles on his driver drop jeep right now, i don't think it was a D44 HP but it might be. i know it's disc front and drum rear if it's still stock. stock gear ratio is probably 4.10:1, least that's what it was on the one's my friend is using

well in that case.... I won't know for sure untill tommorow, but as long as this guy hasn't let somebody pick them up already... He's got both sitting with 16" wheels/tires and lockouts... $100.00

those are probably 16.5"s, that's what was on my friend's axles stock. the rear drums are like 15.5" or something like that. and they do have factory lockout front hubs, his were seized so he got warns. he paid a lot more for his axles than you will if you get them tho ($900 IIRC ) that'd be quite a mod! if you do pick them up, keep an eye out in the iwanna/craigslist for wheels, we picked a full set of 17" 2003 ram 2500 wheels alloy for $250 which will be good to get started on, bead's later...

Thanks for the help...

I was just having trouble finding any solid info online... Sounds like they will work... I got the guy's number and will give him a buzz in the morning to make sure he didn't let them go already... And provided he didn't, i'll go get em.... couldn't pass that up... may be able to steel them for less even... we shall see....

again... thanks for all the help.... i will post up tommorow if i get them...

Possible "JoshuaTest SAS Thread" ?????????????
