Is there a stand alone speedo recalibrator like the Superlift for our trucks?

I did search a bit but was just curious. I have used a Superlift recalibrator with my Jeep with 5:13 gears and 37" tires. Im going to 35`s on my fronty and will be doing gears later. With the 33`s im only about 1% off now, through GPS.

Thanks Bill

It doesn't have the option because it's not something that can be reprogrammed in software. I'm guessing the hypertech calibrator works by intercepting the signal and translating it to a different signal BEFORE it reaches the CPU. It seems to me this probably wouldn't be hard to do with an Arduino. Sounds like an interesting project.Maybe I'll look into it.

Hey Guys,

I got Hypertech's Inline Speedo Calibrator for my Frontier. You are correct in how it works Dan. It plums in line with the Instrument Panel and adjusts the speed input from the ABS unit based on how its programmed. Since the Frontier senses speed right at the wheels, you only need to compensate for tire size. Tire wear makes a pretty big difference too, so its best to adjust it for tires that are about 1/4 worn, and keep track of what your original tire size was too.

So does that mean the calibrator is not affecting the shift points? Is all its doing is changing the speedo or is it actually correcting the signal coming from the sensors?

Also the website says you can download the max energy programmer to the speedo calibrator, for a fee. I'm wondering if you looked into that and what the charge is.

That is correct. There is no way that I know of to adjust the shift points in our trucks (nobody has cracked the TCU to be able to upload new programming yet). The calibrator will only affect the signal going to the instrument panel so that your speedometer and odometer will be correct.
