roastbeef's sas thread

its coming down to the wire my friends. there are not too many serious off roaders on this board, but i think alot of you would still find this interesting and fun. a few guys from the 4x4parts board who each have sas'd 1st gen pathys (one of them is now a buggy) are going to help me with this. this is going to go down very soon.
check out my crap.
start with a truck

buy an axle (dynatrac pro rock 60, mind you)

going to need some shocks to keep it under there...

and tires to roll on (35" xterrains)

arb for the rear. (and in the front)

tie rod/high steer arm

i will keep you guys posted.

its cool that your running a danna 60 but with 35s you are going to have clearance issues up front with that huge chunk!

maybe after you wheel it for a little while maybe go with some 39.5s and make it a beast!

good luck and keep us updated!

also your gonna need a new master cylinder because ours aint stong enough to work those brakes!

it is not a dana 60. it is a dynatrac pro rock 60. better clearance than a D44. the brakes should be fine, im more concerned about the steering, but we are going to do ram-assist.

apparently it is pretty simple. they both did it to their sas'd pathys. nothing much to it.

yes. its a married assembly, so i will be getting a slightly newer tranny too. crawler gears are already in the tcase. the actual 4wd conversion is going to be after the lift. the truck lifted and the tbars gone is going to help us out tremendously with that install.

yea, that should be a great build up. love the loook of that front axle.

what's the plan for the rear. just spring over? are you keeping the stock springs or going with others?
