Rear Drive shaft?

Have a nasty squeaking/clanking in the rear drive shaft.

Dealer says it needs to be replaced and that I'm still in warranty.

I have a 1.5-2" block in the back (PRG mini lift) so I'm happy they didn't hassle me about it. Does and extra 2" add a lot more stress? Just wondering if this will happen again in another 30,000 when I'm out of warranty.

I heard of beefier custom drive shafts. What kind of shop builds them? whats a ballpark price?

its not the shaft, but the u-joints. The dealer just replaces the entire assembly.

The block I have in the back is a little less then 2". Wonder if this caused the Joint to fail early. Did some searching. Was thinking about getting an angled block or some angled shims so this doesn't happen again.

Do you think the extra 2" is added a lot of stress to the u joints?

I have roughly 3" in the rear give or take, and beat the piss out of my truck without any issues. There are guys out there with 5"+ in the rear with stock shafts; so I really don't htink your 1-2" should be a problem at all. I have been looking into to custom shafts for my axle swap and they run about 300-450$ from what I have found.

If the pinion angle had changed sever enough it could wipe out your u joint.
Lift locks don't change the pinion angle, but they will cause axle wrap.
AAL's could change the pinion angle which is most noticable with a drive line vibration.
