Question....can i remove the diff, axles and driveshaft and still drive around?
Would the front hub unit/bearings be ok? I would essentially be making it 2wd (except the t-case) which would enable me to work on the diff on the work bench without the time crunch of needing the truck as a daily driver.
Anything I would need to make sure i do? Just remove axle shafts, remove front diff, remove front driveshaft....then I'm good to drive around, right?
Thats how i got home from GONE last year. removed the diff, front drive shaft and axles and had nno problems.
Carl, why not just drop the diff, axels and front drive shaft. that way you dont have to worry about paying for the shop to do all of that as well. just a thought
Yeah man that was my plan! Or i was just going to take brittanys gsxr for a weekend while im working on the truck.

My concern with the auto locker in the front is my frontier is my daily Driver. Any word on how this behaves so far compared to a selectable locker aka ARB.

Mine is my daily driver , you wont know its there in 2wd. That is unless you drive around on dry pavement in 4x4. If you can afford the ARB its the best of both worlds. For my style of driving the Lokka is perfect and the $1500 I saved paying for the ARB,compressor and install I can buy something else. If you can setup gears yourself you can probably save $500-$750 on the ARB total; cost

Bill,
Would like to clarify something before ordering... For ARB, it lists different part #'s for 3.54 gears and 3.69 gears (RD181 and RD180, respectively). If I remember right, all 6m's have 3.69 gears. There is only one part # for the lokka on the website. Since the part # you have isn't the one listed, do you think you got a different part # that only fits 3.69's? I would hate to order this and get my truck apart to find out it's the wrong one.
