Selectable of course is the best, but pricey.....If getting just one Where you put your locker depends on what you like to do. Locker in the front is best for sand drags and stuff, so the axle pulls you along, I think if you are just in dirt/rocks you will be happy with the rear locker.

5.13's and 35's is an interesting combination.

Its the one my buddies jeep runs, with a NP205 and a TH350. Its a dog.......way slower than when it had 4.10's and 31's. I think its got way to much gearing.
lincoln log...haha haha its lincoln LOCK. Lincoln referring to the brand of welder, and you weld the spider gears together hence the lock part of the phrase. If you're going to SAS it, I would suggest looking at the SAS section of fullsizebronco.com (I'm not trying to be competitive, I think it will really help you because the bronco guys have been doing them for years)

And where exactly did you get the information about putting a locker in the front for sand drags? Because uh, most sand drag people I know usually have rear wheel drive with a spool and about 500-1000 horsepower depending on how big the rear paddle tires are.

The jeep: what are you talking about? My bros jeep never had 4.10s it had 4.88s with 31's. which is effectively geared lower than 5.38s with 35's. The reason why its a "dog" with the new drivetrain is because the throttle sticks open if you floor it and no one has ever floored it. In case you didn't know, throttle response is different than power. And, throttle on the jeep isn't linear.

On a nasty note, does anyone on this site actually have a finished SAS? I see alot of pictures of progress, but no one has actually done one that I've seen. I'm interested on seeing how you deal with the front ABS.

there are pleanty of sas'd nissans around. maybe not alot of sas'd rigs on this site because the majority of the community has 05+ frontiers and they are not as willing to chop up their trucks as others.
this is a nissan site and nobody wants to hear about your ford garbage.

there are at least two solid axle conversions in progress, that being said;
i just picked up my 14" travel king coilover shocks about a week ago. my dynatrac pro rock 60 is being built with 5.13's and an arb. crawler gears installed in the transfer case last month. arb and 5.14's ready to go in the rear. its going to be sporting 35's and probably be more capable than your bronco.

sharing info is fine, but nobody wants you here if you are going to be an a$$.

Ford garbage? Hmm... I seem to recall mudpunisher using a ford f250 d44 front for his swap. Probably more capable after the swap? Your stock truck can probably out offroad my stock Bronco right now, be confident, your truck will kick my ford's a$$ after you swap all that in. I didn't mention anything about Nissan's being bad or Ford's being better, I simply was saying that the Bronco guys have experience. Sorry if that offends anyone.

bronco,
the info in your post was not bad, but the attitude that came in the context. you came off like arrogant "know it all."
thats the problem with message boards, text does not convey attitude well. i apologise if i misunderstood your intent.

+1..it did come off a bit in-your-face, just have to be careful how you word things and what not..just a thought. But yes there are sas'd rigs and many conversions in the process.

mea culpa.

Everyone else- sorry for thread jacking, I just get a little pissed off when inyourface talks shiznit about the jeep because I put a load of work into it...and I carried my uncontrollable rage over to the rest of the Nissan guys. Now that I'm cooled off, V6 frontiers have some impressive horsepower that I'm slightly (quite) envious of and handle alot better than most Toyota pickups I've been in.

Insulting it how? By repeating stuff you say yourself? All I said was it got a little slower, ok quite a bit slower. Which is something you said yourself.

There was no insult in that statement.

Forgive us for the highjack Fronty2wd, I went ahead and deleted all my posts. Apparently they were useless/inflammatory.
