front end noise over bump

I've got one of those curved curbs into my driveway (don't know how else to describe ... ya know, the curbs that are the same throughout an entire neighborhood to save the developer money) ... anyway ...

... when i turn into my driveway i hear a noise like a high-pitch-cranky-crack sound as soon as i hit the curb.

Any ideas on what's making that sound? It only happens when i pull in rather quickly. Doesn't happen anywhere else.

thanks!

at full lock?

If so ........ your just rubbing up against the stops. check you haven't worn the plastic ends off the stops as constant abuse like that will severely wear the stops. greasing them regularly helps a lot. its simply easier to not put so much pressure on the steering ie wind back from full lock a fraction. full lock varies depending on who much travel the suspension does (ie amount of full lock changes when hot a bump). so when you hit a bump it pays to let the steering wheel kick back a bit and you will find it makes less noise and doesn't wear the stops so much.
