buy track with you mean how wide the rear axle is right? i would like to have a wider stance in the rear cause i just did the cst 4 " and the front is a little wider then the rear. thats why i was asking about a rear titan swap. is setting up the e-locker hard with wiring and all? and whats with the hybrid D44 anyway?why not just a D44?

I've got the Titan rear in my truck and it's huge out back. Unless you do a titan swap out front I would not sugest the titan rear. Plus I would get the tru trac installed instead of a factory locker. From my understanding the tru-trac works just as good as the chepo factory locker, and makes your rear end darn near bullet proof.

my understanding is that a limited slip is nearly useless offroad compared to a locker...maybe I'm wrong, I dont have either.

i have to agree because a friend of mine has a jeep wrangler and put an ox locker in the front with tru-track in the rear and hates the tru-track off road because it acts more like a LSD instead of a locker from what he understands. off road the tru-track is no better then a diff with LSD. i need a locker so when i do go off road i wont get stuck spinning one of my tires.

ok so now i just need to know if it would be cheaper to install a locker in my current diff or go buy a nismo 4x2 rear with a e-locker. i do need to be able to shut it off when im on the road.

The tru-trac is a real LSD that is why it acts like one and it is not an ALBS or ABS type of thing.

Since you are not a nismo nor are a 6-speed, you do not have a confirmed locker available. Your only confirmed solution would be to swap in a m226 with an E-locker. If you wanted to be the guinie pig, you can order the air locker from ARB and see if it can be installed on the current c200. You can even go custom like MaxDub (sp.) and do a ford 9". It all depends on how much money you are willing to throw at it.

You can use the search function and see what others have done. Penski did the m226 swap. Maxdub did a ford 9". Just see what you can find and make your decision from there.

If you don't want to do all the research, just order the ARB and let all the people with the 05+ c200 know if it works or not. If it doesn't, you should be able to sell it to an older c200 for an almost breakeven.

ok so you lost me. what i got from what you said is that i have a c200 currently and the nismos come with a m226. what is the difference? gearing ratios? i was leaning towards doing a rear end swap with a nismo rear end but i have no idea where to get one.

Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market

or call your local nissan dealer (and expect it to run around $3k.)

It depends on what type of off roading you will be doing. If you are in to the high speed stuff like the guys out west then don't wont a locker. A LSD would be better for the type of off roading.

You are correct when you say that you have a c200 and not a m226. There is a difference in the gear ratio's between the two. the m226 is closer to a 410 and a c200 is around a 336. Do not quote me on these numbers becasue I know they are not exact but if you go to the nissanusa.com website and look under specifications, you can get a more accurate number. Or if you are able to get a Factory Service Manual, you can look it up there.

You can get a new m226 from the dealer but they are going to kill you on the price. You can get a used one from a junkyard but just be careful that it is a 06+ and not an 05, there was speculation that there were only 2 spider gears used in the 05 and they then changed the design to a 4 spider gear setup or something like that.

Honestly at this point, you might want to hold off on this project until you can do enough research to be fully informed. I know you just got your truck and you want to do everything to it but you need to do research. Research is the key and when you just post something without proving you did the research, you are going to get flammed. Just do yourself a favor and use the search function and read as many threads that you can and try to understand what others have done. Then call around and search for the parts. Then make a post on what you have discovered and what your plans are in detail, ie. parts, time, etc. This will probably get you a lot more positive information and you will have a lot better undersanding on what is actually needed to perform this mod.

Good luck on the research and let us know what you find out.

some m226's have 3.36's, mine has 3.69's (and those are the lowest available for it from the factory)
