the Final drive ratio on a titan IS 3.35/6. That is the final drive. 3.35 turns of the drive shaft per turn of the wheels.

However, the titan also has a 4.x:1 first gear in the auto tranny. Whereas the 1st gear on a E40D/4R100 on a Bronco/F150/F250/F350 SuperDuty E150 E250 E350 etc...is 2.72:1. See the difference? The titan makes up for the lack of rear end gearing.

The smaller the gear ratio (so lower numerically) the smaller your ring gear, which is why titans blow so many rear diffs. If it had 4.55's it would start snapping other things instead of grenading the gears

that is exactly what I was thinking...and iirc the manual tranny has a lower first gear than the auto (tried to check but apparently they decided to chang nissannews and I cant find the specs anymore.)

According to Nissan news automatic first gear is 3.8:1 and manual is 4.4:1 (rounded)

as for the D44 part of the argument, historically D44's break two things, ring gears and axle shafts. Axle shafts you get in chromoly ( hehe) and the only way to reduce ring gear breakages is reduce gear ratio. The bigger gear is stronger. (so 4.11 are stronger then 3.13's). D44s do NOT really have a problem with pinions breaking....

if you dont have a nismo but you have a manual SE then you should have the M226 (modified d44), otherwise, you dont. as for adding the nismo locker, from what I gather, the hole for the wire is missing AND they machine down some parts to make it all fit AND nissan will not sell you the locker. they will however sell you the whole axle for about $3k (or you could find one in a boneyard for probably half of that).
