If i was you, go with a Ford F250 Axel cut down to D44 (so you can use waggy axels) they are really cheap and easy to get

http://www.toy4runner.com/lift.html

Check out my parts list, everything that i used would work on our frontiers, gives a good breakdown of everythng you will need.

If your looking for strong, the ford axel would be the best way, a little pricy, but worth it.

my friend's got a set of full width ford axles right now D60 rear, D44 front, he's looking at getting an old 350 which i believe has D80 rear and D60 front. he wants to keep the 60's so he'd have a full width front 44 and 80 rear if you are interested in those...

Do you want full width or do you plan on cutting them down. I don't think you will break a d44 up front if you build it right

he just told me he will actually sell you the truck he bought which is an 76 f250. it has a D44 front (drivers drop) with a D60 rear. no idea on the gear ratio, probably 3.55:1 or better, most likely 4.10:1, for $900 firm. the advantage there being the axles are matched width, ratio and everything, they'd require little work to the axles themselves. the truck caught on fire so the engine and trans are toast but the suspension is still in good shape, it's coil front with leaf rear
