coil overs for me are not needed for the type of wheeling i do. if i needed it i would be happy to do it but there is no reason i can think of as to why i would need it. in florida we mudbogg, we dont have rocks and mountains to climb. if i can finnd a wagoneer axle for a good price, i might consider the calmini kit still. but i really dont need it.

on another note, ive been looking around and found a guy with an 84 chevy pickup, it doesnt have a motor or tans in it but its got front and rear axles. he onlys wants 600 for it. this weekend i will be going to take a look at it and see. than ill have full size running gear!

Your right offroad it may be a little over-kill. However on the road it will still drive good buch better then leaf springs.

I was just pointing that out because I wish i did it, not just for rock crawling, but I drove it around town alone and on long trips. the leaf-spring in the front makes it so harsh on the road...

I am sure whatever witch way you go you are going to love it much better then IFS :P

thats true, i didnt really think about on road performance. i might go that route. the hardest part will be getting the same axel required for that kit. cause im sure not about to do a custom coil over on my truck yet. while i was doing my research, your 4runner was one of the things i looked at, so thanks man!

All Pro Offroad sells everything you would need to install the tacoma kit on your truck. whole kit is like 2k...

Also, make sure to check out how the X guys do it, i am very sure its 90% the same as the tacoma.

An f250 Axel will also fit up front cut down to D44 so you can use waggy axels..

check out my install, have alot of info on my parts like as they would be the same for our frontiers... www.toy4runner.com click Lift install...

Hey mud how much are you looking to spend on an axle. I have a line on a late 80's grand wagoneer axle(d44) for $500. Let me know if you want it. I dont have the time or money right now to do the SAS on my truck.

I'm also doing the sas on my 04. I got an axle from an 84 waggy and am in the process of rebuilding it and upgrading the steering to highsteer and adding a locker. I just bought a set of 38 12.50s for the truck so i'm pretty commited. I plan on using the all pro offroad 6in lift springs and bilstein 5150s. I have come acrossed a lot of info on our swap on nissan4wheelers.com. If you have any specific questions let me know and i will try to answer them if i can.

High steer uses a different set of steering knuckles. If you are running soa then you will have to use high steer in order for the steering to clear the leaf springs. High steer is designed to reduce the angle between the pitman arm and the knuckle so that when the suspension flexes your steering doesn't bind. It also reduces bumpsteer when flexing.
