I used to run SS lines on my racecar year ago for 2 main reasons. Brakeing force is transfered faster through true SS lines. Secondly being a braided SS line is is far better protected so good value as far as peace of mind .
Rubber lines are not just rubber its just a rubber outer covering.Being a slightly softer covering they will swell under pressure ever so slightly hence transfer the pressure slightly slower. The SS braid will keep the dia of the tube to spec at all times . This means that in theory it will transfer the pressure faster .

The only time I would ever expect to see a brake line bubble from pressure is just before it bursts

At the end of the day you will more than likely find that the only difference between most of the OEM and SS lines is they are the same line but 1 had a SS covering.
However if the lines are high quality top dollar SS brake lines then yes the quality is there and it is worth the effort.
How to tell the differance between the 2 differant type of SS lines . Only buy brake lines from a reputable manufacturer.Buy your most important parts from the places Indy and Nascar buy their gear. Quality costs .!!!!!

Yes, installing SS brake lines should engage brakes faster otherwise no sense to install them.

well i've had these for a while (thanks for reminding me to repost stan ) and i am really satisfied. i feel (after reading greg at PRG having trouble getting these systems completely bled out) that it still needs some more time of bleeding. some of the travel seems to have worked its way out, almost back to normal. again, it wasn't much to begin with, but if it was 2 hairs before, now it's only about 1 hair from the top of the pedal. i'm not talking about mid travel engaging or anything. due to a position change at work i have not been able to do anything as far as a writeup or pics of these, i hope to friday
