Don't worry your little head, I didn't vote. I was simply looking for some insight...nevermind then

I got it done in the fall (oct/nov 07). When I reported the problem I had like 35,700 miles (it started before this, but I didn't do anything about until I heard about the tsb), it got fixed after 36,000 because they had to order parts. I think the whine has started again, although it's pretty quiet now. I'm going to mention it to the dealer next time it's in.

There are numerous other threads discussing this problem if you need more info. I am just trying to keep the point of THIS thread very specific. Have you had the problem or not. I really want to see if the problem is as wide spread as we may believe and just deal in absolutes.

Frankly the fact the the poll is at 10% is a little disturbing. That's still a lot of failures if the numbers hold up in a larger sample. Also, it appears that around 30,000 miles is a common mileage for the problem to surface.

i put no for now, i have 32k miles on my truck and since 5k i have heard a lot of timing chain noise. last week i took it in concerned because it seemed to be getting louder and making other strange noises. they said everything is normal.

i work at a cadillac dealer. we have replaced all CTS timing chains that made noise 10x quieter than my chain (it's also a semi-frequent issue), but then again, it's a cadillac

Hmm... I'll have to read the TSB, i've noticed more noise from the engine, but nothing that seems to meet what you all are mentioning... 45 on my 05 right now...

39K miles started & eventually replaced after wading through Nissan's so called customer service.

Go in prepared and willing to follow through.

I have an 08 with little mileage so I won't vote. It would be nice if there was a way to document what years this affects. Does anyone know if this problem still exists in the 08s?
