2nd time will be on most peoples dime . that what sucks.
That's what I'm worried about. The one dude who reported that he did it himself said that all the part numbers of the replacement parts were the same as what came off. Nissan said the parts were slightly different to address what was wrong with the old stuff, but same PN to me says it's the same crap that is failing. IDK how auto PNs work--but in aviation, if a part gets modified in some way to improve it, the PN is different and the old PN gets deleted or is an alternate PN. I really hope this doesn't happen a 2nd time for me. my first one lasted 48k

Was there any reason why the truck has this timing issue?
was it just a bad part? if so what exactly.
I just mine done a few weeks back and less than 5k til I hit 60k (outside warranty) and it would really suck if it did come back after that
My warranty for my '05 is 63k
I wonder why yours is 3k short of this.
I thought I read somewhere that the tensioner starts to go bad and the chain wears down the guides.
Don't quote me on that--so just read the TSB (link is above your post)
This is what my truck sounds like: YouTube - Nissan VQ40DE Timing Chain Whine. My build date from the door sticker says January 2008. It's been whining for a little bit now and I was trying to ignore it, but it's just getting louder. Time to get it fixed.

I just assumed it was 60k. I have to check the Warranty Booklet that explains what is covered in certain mileage points.
in another note, I just pointed this out to my brother-in-law and mentioned I had this TSB done on my Fronty. He drives a 2005 Pathfinder. Lo and behold he had the same noise/whine. He also thought it was normal and been driving with it for the last 15k miles.

I just had my timing chain guide replaced at 47k on my 05 nismo. I never noticed the whine, i always blast the radio, but when i took my truck in for another problem they noticed the whine and recommended replacing guide. They said it was a problem part for the 05 model that nissan sent a bullitan about. Unfortunatley when I got it back it drives worse now. There is a delay in the throtlle when I accelerate after slowing down or stopping. It feels like soemthing is not engaing or is late to engage when I step on the gas or if i shift from forward to reverse (AT) or vise versa. BTW what's "TSB"? I think I missed that part of the discussion.
