PRG Vs. Calmini

Debating a PRG kit VS Calmini

CST 4" lift spindle
2" PRG level kit..(this is actually a bit taller than 2" so total front lift will be about 6.5")
braided ft brake lines
PRG Deaver rear springs
2" rear block kit
Bilstein rear shocks
PRG shackle
PRG rear brake lines.

For 1450$

Or the 5" Calmini kit for 1295$

Going on a 05' KC Nismo 2wd. Just trying to see peoples opinions... Right now I'm swaying towards PRG and just wanted to here all the Pro's and Con's

PRG all the way, the spindles setup will give you far more clearance!

ok boss your back end will be higher than your front with all that added to your rear. The best look and functional avenue i have seen on here is to loose the 2" rear block kit and the deavers and go with his height adjustable shackles. The front will net you at around 6.5 and give you much more room to play than the calmini. If you were to add his Uppers than you are looking at a very durable long lasting set-up. Now if you want it more level do go with his 2" block kit though only put your shackles at 1.5 instead of 2.

That calmini kit is not worth it in my mind because most of the money comes from that front drop-bracket that nets you only an extra inch of clearance.

good luck bud.

You asked so I'll tell. Save the money and don't lift at all. $1400 isn't worth spending on looks since the truck is 2wd IMHO.

But if you decide to lift anyways, stay away from blocks in the rear as they flatten out your springs and drastically reduce ride comfort. Whatever your decision is, lift the rear with Add-a-leaf's or Deaver's/Alcan's, and shackles.

I say go with Fabtech over Calmini.

I read somewhere on here that it's not good to lift higher than 3 or 4" without a drop bracket type lift. IDK, I'm happy with my set up.

Hopefully soon to come; PRG UCA & Radflos or SAW's for the front.

Shackles will flatten springs, blocks promote axle wrap.

He is 2wd which means that he doesn't need the drop bracket.

My truck is 2wd...it's been some places Also, 1400$ from PRG will get you a really plush ride quality...that to me is well worth the money even if the truck never sees a day of dirt in it's life.

Calmini and Fabtech are absolutely the WORST investment for a 2wd truck! You are putting huge a$$ spacers and drop brackets on your truck and all you get is an inch of ground clearance and declining MPG's.

If you want the height/ground clearance go with the CST spindles and a decent set of coilovers for the front; then get the Deaver AAL and adjustale shackles for the rear with a bilstein 5125 or SAW 2.25 remote reservoir shock. I guarantee you will be extremely pleased with improved ride quality and handling; not to mention the sweet a$$ look your truck will have once your done.
