Why not run a nice set of nismo headers , new FULL exaust and not a muffler ? Lower crank pullie for mo bettter boosttt . I duno If i had the SC I would add as much as I could to give it more ,Why not change out the air box for something els ? oops you do a lot of wheelin ?

We get 93 down here , I think it has to do with the below sea level thing ?

Im in Houston, so I don't see how it could be a sea level thing. We are pretty much at the same sea level if not dang close. Has anyone in Houston seen 93 octane?

Wait, wait. How high are you? The air does not have less oxygen in it! The air always contains 20.9% oxygen no matter what. Now when getting into higher alt due to the drop in barometric pressure and the laws of partial pressures there is still 20.9% oxygen but is spread out over a much larger area then at sea level. Thats why Mt. Everest climbers need to take supplimental oxygen because there is not enough in a combined space to fullfil the requirements of the body when placed in that type of stress situation. It's read in TORR, there specific counting system. At sea level the Torr level of 20.9% oxygen is around 160torr where as 20,000 ft could be about 45torr, same amount of oxygen in the air just now at this higher alt our body requires more red blood cells to do the same amount of work that it used to do at sea level.

You get both if you are nice on the gas but mainly HP/TQ but it is tailored towards the 2nd gen only. The 1st gens can advance their timing but nobody has really posted about how it affects the 1st gens.

I've been running 87 since I got my 07 Crew brand new 10 months ago. The dealer even filled it up with 87 for me twice (once when I bought it and again for sending in the survey). I've never had any problems with pinging or knocking. I don't tow or haul anything so it may be an issue for those that haul stuff. I don't know. In mixed driving I get 20.5 - 21 mpg. Almost strictly city driving I get 19 if I'm careful on the gas. I've only made one long trip in it so far (180 miles each way or 360 round trip) and on that trip I got 22.85 mpg (pretty much 23). And that's with driving about 85-ish the whole way. I've actually gotten as high as 24 doing mostly 65-70 mph on the interstate.
One thing I've noticed about my truck though (and it may be the variable valve timing) is that if I'm gettin on the gas hard from a stand still, when I hit about 3500 - 4000, I get a boost in accelleration. It's not HUGE but it's definitely noticable. Is this Variable Valve Timing kicking in? I know that in Hondas, the VVT doesn't kick in til almost redline. Thoughts???
Oh, and I've never had the timing advance done. I leave that up to the ant-knock sensor. That's what it's for.
