East and I love it here because I'm not in Australia.

Seriously though, you should have included the middle of the United States also, probably as many people are from the central US as there is from either the east or west coast.

I'm from Pennsylvania. 3 hours to the beach. Appalachian mountains run through here. Great hunting, fishing, hiking, camping lots to do out doors. The oldest (maybe second oldest) river in the world runs through here; the Susquehanna River. Nice seasonal changes, although winters can be nasty with lots of snow and cold temps. It's a nice area here imo.

East coast here. I'm in Maryland about halfway between Baltimore and Washington, D.C. Lived here my whole life, great fishing, crabbing (if you've never had steamed blue crabs, you're missing something great!), the ocean is about 3 hours away, mountains about half that to the West. Only thing I hate about this area is the traffic, but that's to be expected when you're this close to the nation's capital.
