yeah I hate the 1st gen longbed, the thing looks way to skinny and loooooooong and not beefy or sporty like a truck should be. Thats why I went SB, but there were and will be times when I need a LB.

short bed fo'shor'. my needs do not require the long bed, plus to me it looks too bulky.

I like the look of the short bed a lot better although that extra foot could help with some things.... plus i would rather get a nismo short bed (which i have) over a SE long bed anytime....

I'm on my third frontier crew cab. The first one was a 2000 short bed followed by a 2002 long bed and now a 2008 long bed. As stated here, it's all about needs. I need the long bed and also "it's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it." Think of how many buyers skipped Nissan in the years (2000,2001,2005,2006) they didn't offer a long bed crew cab. That was a costly gamble for them.

i say crew cab short base, if i need a crew cab i would have the CC because i need the CC not the bed. i have a KC becaus i need the bed not the seating. im sure some people need both, but not all people are like me.

The 1st gens already weigh enough no matter what style you get, but a CC LWB is over 4300 lbs! No wonder some 1st gen LB guys are getting 16-17 mpg. My SB with I/E gets about 21 combined! I wanted the cab space plus I've never been short on bed space for hauling. Thus the CC SB is the right truck for me.

CC LB for me - it's really an individual thing, depending on your taste and needs. The extra foot in the bed makes a real difference for me with some loads and I'm glad I have it.
