It doesn't matter. We never fish for reds anyway. Mostly specks. Love hitting up Grand Isle. I can't recall ever going there and NOT catching fish.

Went fresh water fishing for the first time on the weekend with some of my mates from the local Kayak Fishing Forum.

Ended up with 26 Australian Bass and one Yellowbelly. Most of the Bass were around 35 cms/ 14", and the yellabelly went 48 cms/ 19". Had great time, all my fish were caught using Jackell lures.

first Bass ever.

biggest Bass

yellabelly

all fish were released.

Bass taste is a pretty wide term. There is a lot of different bass species, both salt and freshwater. Redfish tastes nothing like a freshwater bass. Redfish is Wayyyyy better.
