yes well its been a learning experience.
Would you believe they charged me for the o ring which hopefully will get here today.Mechanic is going to install it no charge.Arn't they generous.Guess thats what you get for doing your own servicing. And for assuming the experts have covered all bases.
Hopefully that will be the end of it.

Should I get a catch can put on this vehicle and do you recomend I get the EGR blocked and butterfly disabled?

catch can is VERY highly recommended due to the amount of oil these motors blow out the breather.

EGR is upto you (you guys have emmisions rules). i recommend it due to the problems the EGR system causes and the gain in performance down low which is very handy for 4x4ing.
however i had one person who reckoned they lost fuel economy when they blocked egr. i suspect that may be due to their rathar small intercooler they have fitted. its still work in progress.

also big exhaust is highly recommended due to a very narrow point on the rear muffler.

what about for those that have the dpf are there any gains to be had fitting a bigger oulet after the dpf ?as i PRESUME that for a biger exhaust to be fitted and any gains made the dpf would need to be removed probably creating other problems?

D40 is a little interesting. exhaust after DPF is no problem and will get some gains.
the catch you guys will have is your rules forbid you from removing emissions gear. depends on how obvious the DPF is. if its tucked up behind the turbo you could actually get rid of it and get more gains. however next catch is the exhaust influences how the variable turbo works so you may have to tweak the turbo. obviously boost gauge is a must and pre turbo EGT gauge is highly recommended.
if your looking at blocking EGR then you will have to mod turbo to stop it over boosting.
