indeed - would gladly pay $$ for it

BUT

if it was as simple as plugging the sensor in then it should be displayed now on the truck but with either an error on the display where it should read temp or else read the highest temp as its an open circuit

Does anyone know if you can "activate" that function simply by plugging in a temperature sensor? The sensor sits under the front of the front bumper.

Might be a cheap way of getting some additional functionally back!
The Frontiers, at least as much as I have seen, do not have temp readouts in the dash. I know what you are talking about, I have a temp readout in the dash of my Altima. For LE CC Frontiers and Nismos it is part of an aftermarket mirror assembly that the factory puts in. If you really want it you can buy the exact same mirror but you will need to run all the wires and such. The SE, XE and KC LE does not have this mirror.

BTW, before you guys go to too much trouble, keep in mind that the economy and DTE displays are really not that accurate. Its nice to have but they are not indicators.

In fact, the economy guage is an average and not a real-time display which means that you will see the average economy since the last time you reset the guage. It is way off at times.

BTW, nice to hear from our friends oversees.

(uk service manual shows temp aswell as trip computer - our dash appears to be ready for it)

if it was as simple as the just code - nissan would have left it all functioning though people

why remove a sellable feature if there is no cost saving

Added rear view mirror.

What specifically was involved in changing out that mirror? Thinking of changing mine out as well.

There's a thread on here somewhere with pictures and very good instructions as well as pictures. I put one on - Basically, you have to pull off the plastic trim on the left side of the windshield and bottom kickplate and door edge panels. You have to run the wiring behind the panels and tuck it under the edge of the headliner, tie into a 12V constant line and a 12V key on line, and run a wiring harness out to the front of the truck. (Not as bad as it sounds)
