D40 V6 Tuning

Does anyone know of any workshops in Australia retuning the D40 V6s?
It seems that there is plenty of room to retune these V6s getting some extra power and torque and improving fuel economy as well as for the A5 some shift changes. Surely, given a similar engine is used in the 350Z, there must be a Tuner who has cracked the code.

Anyone??

I know nissan can adcnace the timing a degree or two depending on what fuel you run. Small gains to be had in that.

at the end of the day after all the differant mods the differant guys have done the best economy for the money seems like leaving it alone.
CAI and headers seem to be sorta ok power and torque wise but noone has really seemed to be able to get any real improvement in economy.

That seems to be the norm, but I mean a real Tuner getting into the ECU and re mapping the timing , air/fuel etc. I had my previous car done(not a nissan) and the improvements were across the board power/torque/economy/driveability.
From what I read these cars run fairly rich so gains are to be had if someone out there can do the tunes. Then the aftermarket exhaust & CAI would come into its own and you would get the full benefits from them with the ECU remap.

I know exactly what you mean as i used to actually remap tunes on the GM 808 units.
If your really after the perfect tune then you need to do a 1 off tune on each vehicle.
We used to have clients spending litterally thousands to save a few bucks on the fuel bill.
At the end of the day the way it comes from the factory will actually be the best compramise that ayone could want.Yes they run rich but thats to stay within safe limits. Yes we can tune them better but unless your tuning to set them up for specific mods then its really just not worth the money.

If the code is cracked and a few base tunes are done then a bit of dyno time and you have a custom tune for a fair price. It's not all about economy but as a power mod a remap would have to be the best $$ per kw mod you can do.

Do Nissan use lean burn on the D40? I"m guessing no looking at my Scan Gauge data. This is a great first up addittion to a ECU remap, there are serious gains with lean burn for highway cruising figures.

Let's hope someone here pick's up the software and starts tuning some trucks. I'm guessing the factory tunes may be different between the two countries but the code will be the same. They will be complex tunes due to the quad cams with variable inlet/outlet timing but given they use a MAF should be fairly safe to tune and any MAIL ORDER tunes if they become available will be easy to apply.

Do you just go into a Nissan Dealer and ask them to advance your timing? Will they still cover your truck under warranty even with the timing mod?

The only people who have tuned D40 with VQ40DE is Uprev. I dont see why you cant use them in AU. You have to buy a laptop adapter and software, and then they just email you the tunes.
