Bypass/toilet roll style oil filter systems

Hey all,
I just recently purchased my first new car (the d40 dual cab 2.5d manual) and obviously I am keen to try and keep it in as new condition for as long as possible.

I have read a bit about these bypass style oil filters installed in addition to your standard filter and was wondering if anyone on here has had any experience with an install on the 2.5 litre diesel.

I have no idea what size I would need or if it would even be possible but am interested in anyones comments experience with em.

Thanks for any input.
Brian

I used to have one of them on my old 80 series but I don't think I would be game installing it to the D40 , as engine prices are still way to high should something go wrong , I still have the unit why you want to buy it ? LOL

Whats wrong with changing oil every 5k ?

nothing wrong with 5k oil changes but just thought that those bypass style ones cleaned the oil buch better.

Probably overkill I guess. Was just pondering.

provided you don't bleed off to much oil pressure then i can't see it causeing a problem.

I use to run a FRANZ filter in my 50 Dodge Power Wagon. The install was simple, and I had it until I sold the truck, worked good on the old "flat head". Come to think of it I kinda miss that old beater~
