will 285/75-16 tires rub with 3" susp. lift?

Its time for me to get new tires for my 01 CC SE. I have a 3" suspension lift. I was thinking about getting 285/75-16 General Grabber AT2 tires. I like the look of them and they are fairly cheap compared to BFG AT's. I was just wondering if anyone has this setup? If so, do the tires rub at all? I plan on using my stock 16x7 wheels. Any opinions on these tires?

I'm sure there are threads that already explain this, but I can not find anything with my model truck. Thanks for any help.

personally, i've done extensive driving with both tires, and i bought a set of these Kumho Road Venture AT KL-78 and prefer them much over the others. they ride nice on the highway, but if you get into the woods somewhere, they'll dig way better, and clean themselves way better than the generals. in my jeep i ran the kumho MT's and absolutely loved everything about them, and for the price you won't find a better tire. i'm not saying the kumho's are the greatest thing on the planet, and there are no better tires... but they'll perform every bit as well (or better than) many tires twice and three times more expensive... they won't last as long, i've never gotten more than about 45k out of a set, (compared to michelin's i've replaced with 70k on them and had plenty of tread left, but were dry rotting from age) but for the price you really can't beat 'em.

just my .02

Thanks for the input. I am basically looking for a good looking AT tire that is relatively cheap. I do go into some spots in the woods that are always muddy, so a good self-cleaning tire is good too.

it's well worth looking into the kumho's... either the AT or the MT would work well, though for a lot of highway driving the MT's tend to drone a bit( as most MT tires will).

Not sure how wide 285's are but my 295's on stock wheels rub on the frame when I crank the wheel all the way to either side. Looking at getting spacers or adapters to cure that. But I also have 8" of lift.

Hopefully soon to come; PRG UCA & Radflos or SAW's for the front.

If I do go with the 285's rather than 265's, how much trimming do you think I would have to do if any? Mudflaps would be removed for sure.

Ok, just found out that the General Grabbers are on national backorder. So I guess no one in the country can get them. Looks like im going with the Kumho's.

i ride the 285's on a 2'' leveling kit and im having the rubing on the inner fender at 30 degree angle. even after removal of mud flaps. havent got heat gun but ill check it out.

i got BFG - Baja champion 285/70 R17 (32.8'' tall)

I want to fit Dicks 35'' Crushers, Big river suggested adjustable camber bolts. Im going to look into that for a perma fix
