Use mobile1 5w30. Same gas.. I have used nappa brand(which is Valvoline) and my truck really feels better on the mobile1. I use fram filters because they are easy to grip.. But I change my oil every 3200 miles so if you are wanting to go longer because of the synthetic.. I would use a Ams Oil filter.. they are made by Wix I believe but are longer and can be run longer..should not be over maybe $8/ filter? The other thing I have heard of people doing is changing filters every 3k and changing oil every 6-9k (someone correct me if I'm wrong here)there is a valve that will keep your oil from pooring out when you change just the filter. when you change the filter you will need to top the oil off...

another voucher for mobil1, it's what we use at the dealership for all of our oil changes (regular and synthetic). a lot of high end cars use mobil 1, for instance, porsches do. if it's good enough for them, it's good enough for us

i used to use RP and liked it but i recently changed to ams oil with the amsoil Ea filter and i LOVE it, but for the money mobil 1 is your best choice, if you don't mind spending a tad more go with the amsoil.

NEVER use a FRAM oil filter, or anything else they make

these are very poor quality filters, there are very little folds or pleats(what ever you want to call them) in these and a lot of the inner construction is cheap paper, this means very horrible filtration and a filter that will deteriorate, two things you do not want in a filter...if the fram "sure grip" is really worth it to you then get it, but I know almost any real knowledgeable mechanic would never even put one of these on their own vehicle

go with a mobile 1 filter or a wix filter if you can get a hold of one

as for oil everyone is right on the ball with the mobile 1 full synthetic oil(make sure you get full rather than part synthetic), I just recently put some castrol syntec fully synthetic oil in my truck, so far it's felt very smooth

how often should you change the oil? Oil companies will tell you every 3000 miles but you are safe to go 5000, and even a little more

I personaly change my oil about every 4000 because I like to try and keep things fresh and it never hurts, you can never change your oil too much

I used to use either Mobile 1 (or Castrol Syntec) but after reading about independant testing on bobtheoilguy.com , I switched to Pennzoil Platnum. Seems this stuff has nearly the same properties as the Extended Life (better grade) Mobile 1 for 20% less $. Been running it in two vehicles for just under a year now and am very happy. Gives me 20 mpg average on 87 when I do my part. Slightly better if i run 93 ( consistantly). Just changed mine an hour ago!

FYI Wix makes the Napa Gold filters for Napa.

I use the K&N filters. They're a little expensive but the "1 nut on top makes them really easy to change. Have used them on my past 2 cars as well. No problems. Also use Mobil 1 5w30
