what is redline for the 2.4L?

for some reason trucks with manual transmissions dont come with tachs so i put one in.............. but what is the readline?

mine came with a tach from the factory and it redlines right at 5800 rpms but ive never hit the rev limiter so i dont know about how high it will go or if it even has a rev limiter

you dont want to hit red line while racing. max torque is at 4400rpms, so sometime either right before or at is when shifting would be optimal.

yeah and mine came with a tach too, but i dont really need it....

lol i know wat u mean, my 91 hardbody didnt come with a tach....just a blank space for either a clock or a tach, and whoever bought it didnt choose either! lol my 01 frontier redlines at like 5800 though

yea I think its 5800, the way i found mine was just put it in neutral and gas it and rev it up until it hits the rev limiter. once the rpm wont go any higher then you found it. Not going to hurt it that's why the limiter is there.
