I'd do a full coolant flush since you are going to be messing with the coolant. Also get a thermostat (I recommend Nissan OEM only). Pick up some Fan belts if the one on thruck look bad.

Do all your belts, t-stat, coolant of course, plugs, wires. I'll get you a link later where you can buy everything together, I don't have time to look for it now.

What happened to your water pump? I had 165,000 miles on my 95 KC XE and it still had the original water pump on it when I sold it last year.

Here are some kits at CourtesyNissanparts.com for the timing chains and belts. Water pumps come with them.

If your in there to do the water pump and you are even close to time to need the t-belt replaced do it all. Pump, thermostat, t-belt , tensioner, cam seals, crank seal, belts, and check all of your idler pulleys to make sure they are still turning smooth. Also check all of your radiator hoses and there is one hose on the top of the thermostat housing that you should replace while you have the covers off otherwise when it decides to leak(and it will i promise) it's a real pita to replace.

my fronty is 4 banger, doesn't this engine have a timing chain? if chain then it doesn't need to be replaced, right? I'll check out the hoses, belts, idlers, t'stat. spark plug wires can be done anytime, right?
I saw white dry on bottom of guard under engine and I had to add a quart of coolant. I guessed that water pump is leaking so I drove around a bit to find leak when engine was hot. Coolant level must've got low, because needle started moving up above normal temp. Stopped at garage immediately and saw a bit of steamy smoke coming from fan pulley where pump is. can't tell if it's leaking through weep hole or somewhere else, but no coolant coming from anywhere else.
